About us
The Institute for Refractive and Ophthalmic Surgery (IROC) was founded in 2002 in Zurich. Within 15 years, the IROC-staff grew from 5 to a team of more than 25 people. In 2005, we moved to larger facility at the Stockerstrasse 37 in Zurich.
IROC also operates an external operating theater at Tödistrasse 61 in 8002 Zurich.
In order to consistently focus IROC's scientific expertise on complex procedures, standard refractive surgery treatments were transferred to the specialized subsidiary YOUSEE, with locations in Basel, Bern, Zurich, and Düsseldorf, in 2018. This structure allows us to make optimal use of synergies while guaranteeing the highest treatment standards in both areas.
With many years of experience in eye surgery and intensive research activities, IROC is known nationally as well as internationally as a high-end reference center for all kind of anterior segment eye diseases.
Not only does IROC perform several thousand surgeries annually in all subdisciplines of ophthalmology, it also conducts research and contributes to many of the latest technical developments in ophthalmology. This is reflected in many publications that appear every year in internationally recognized ophthalmological journals.
